The park finder

Using your location is optional. Your browser asks permission when you choose that button. Nearby distances are calculated on your device. We do not send your coordinates, entered ZIP code, or search text to our analytics or a geocoding service.

Directions and operator links take you to other websites, whose privacy practices apply there. Clicking Google Maps directions sends the park destination, not your browser location, in our link.

Small, useful counts

We count page views and selected actions, such as directions, operator or booking-link clicks, and visits to the newsletter signup page. We store daily totals grouped by our page, listed city, action and destination website hostname. These counts do not establish unique people, completed bookings, or sales.

Our measurement uses no cookies, advertising pixels or visitor IDs. It does not store IP addresses, email addresses, browser fingerprints, precise locations, full outbound URLs, search text, referring URLs or URL query strings. We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Known bots are filtered when identifiable; counts can still include automated or repeated activity and can miss blocked measurement.

The Weekly Sniff

Joining is optional. The embedded beehiiv form asks for your email address, preferred Texas city and explicit newsletter consent. You enter these details directly into beehiiv; our site backend does not receive or store them. Your newsletter details are separate from our aggregate analytics. We do not sell subscriber details to sponsors.

Beehiiv manages newsletter subscriptions, email preferences and confirmation. See beehiiv’s privacy policy. Its embedded form may use cookies for form display and attribution, and process connection information under that policy, separately from our cookie-free aggregate measurement. New subscribers must confirm their email before becoming active. Each newsletter will include an unsubscribe link; you may also contact [email protected] for help with your subscription or data.

Hosting and questions

Cloudflare hosts this site and the aggregate analytics database. Hosting and security providers process ordinary connection information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site under their own policies. Our aggregate measurement does not copy that connection information into its database. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

We use aggregate totals to improve the guide and report clearly labeled sponsor performance. We review aggregate data retention as the service develops. Newsletter providers maintain subscription records until removal under their policies and applicable retention requirements.
